Empowering Young Lives by Adopting the KIDEP Orphanage in Tanzania

July 03, 2025

One Step Foundation has officially adopted the KIDEP Orphanage (Kilidiomedi Elimu Project) in Moshi, Tanzania—a grassroots center founded by Diomedi Paskali, a former street child. KIDEP supports 40 living at the center and 48 in the surrounding community—through education, nutrition, healthcare, and emotional care. After an initial visit and a symbolic donation of $5,895 (one dollar for every meter of Mount Kilimanjaro), One Step committed to long-term support. But urgent needs remain: a broken fence has allowed street dogs to attack children, the septic system is overflowing, and school fees for 40 children are unpaid. We’ve begun immediate action—rebuilding the fence, repairing the septic system, and covering school costs—with on-the-ground leadership from our trusted volunteer, Daudi Bayo. Together, we’re dedicated to restoring safety, dignity, and opportunity for every child
