Strengthening Healthcare: Our $2,500 Contribution to the Irving Healthcare Foundation

We’re excited to share that One Step Foundation has donated $2,500 to the Irving Healthcare Foundation to support their extensive initiatives. This generous contribution was made possible by our own Bal Joshi, who completed the Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon, recognized as one of the most challenging marathons in the world.

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who backed Bal Joshi’s marathon adventure and supported this cause. Your generosity helps advance critical healthcare services and enrich the lives of countless individuals. We are proud to contribute to such a meaningful cause and look forward to continuing our efforts to make a positive impact in our community. Supporting Community Initiatives: Our Recent Donation to the Dallas Denton Nepalese Lions Club

We are thrilled to share that we’ve donated $2,500 to the Dallas Denton Nepalese Lions Club to support their vital community initiatives. This contribution, part of our ongoing series under the One Step Foundation banner, was made possible by the generous donations from Bal Joshi’s Everest Marathon run on May 29th. This incredible journey took him from the Khumbu Ice Fall to Namche Bazaar.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported his marathon journey. Together, we’re making a positive impact!

 

Empowering Healthcare: Our $10,000 Donation to Himalaya Health Clinic

One Step Foundation presents a $10,000 check to the Himalaya Health Clinic, which provides essential support to uninsured and underinsured community members. We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a significant cause. These funds were raised through our recent Everest Marathon run on May 29, 2024, where we aimed to support six different charities. A heartfelt thank you to all the donors who made this possible!

One Step Foundation volunteer Bal Joshi is running a 100k race on November 23, 2024, at the Dinosaur Valley Endurance Run in Glen Rose, TX, to raise funds for an upcoming project to build a library accessible to differently-abled individuals in Chitwan, Nepal. This project is run and managed by Nepal Journey, an organization dedicated to fostering educational opportunities and cultural preservation in Nepal. Nepal Journey focuses on community-based initiatives, promoting sustainable development, and supporting educational infrastructure in underserved regions.

Tackled the Everest Marathon on May 29, 2024.

Represented by the One Step Foundation, This isn’t just any challenge; it’s one of the world’s most demanding marathons, pushing runners to their limits with its extreme altitude of over 17,500 feet and treacherous terrain in the heart of the Himalayas. Every step in this race is a testament to human endurance, set against the backdrop of Earth’s highest peak.

He is running for causes close to his heart: education, healthcare, and cultural preservation. This marathon, commemorating the historic ascent by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary, is more than a race; it’s a mission to positively impact the world.

Introduction:

In a world where every small action counts, our volunteers at the One Step Foundation took on a monumental challenge: a 100K bike ride to support the Kamala Foundation. This event exemplifies how determination and teamwork can turn a simple ride into a beacon of hope for many.

The Journey:

Over the course of this incredible journey, our volunteers pedaled through diverse terrains, pushing their limits to raise awareness and funds for the Kamala Foundation. Each kilometer covered was a testament to their unwavering commitment to making a difference.

The Impact:

The funds raised from this event will support various community initiatives led by the Kamala Foundation. These initiatives focus on education, healthcare, and sustainable development, directly benefiting those in need and fostering long-term positive change.

Kamala Shakya Foundation

Kamala Shakya Foundation® is non profit and charitable organization which is committed to prevent cervical cancer through awareness outreach and advocacy in Nepal and USA. The foundation is focused on women’s Gynecologycal Cancer awareness. It also educates the women in Nepal who live in remote areas where they have minimal amount of health knowledge. Currently the foundation is working with Dhulkhel Hospital Gynecology department to reach out for those women who needs a help.  

The foundation is dedicated to the memory of Kamala Shakya, who died cause of cervical cancer in April 18, 2018. Kamala Shakya was a dedicated Nurse and work at local hospitals. She was very active in Nepali community in Dallas, Texas. She volunteered at Nepali Society in Texas, Walk for Nepal Team and many more social events. Dallas based this foundation was founded with the help of Nepali community in DFW

Nepal Heritage Inc : Preserving Nepali Culture in Dallas, TX

Nepal Heritage Inc. is a visionary nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Nepali culture in the heart of Dallas, Texas. Our mission is to establish a Nepali heritage museum, serving as a vibrant hub where the rich history, traditions, and artistry of Nepal can be celebrated and shared with the local community and beyond.

At Nepal Heritage Inc., we believe that cultural preservation is essential for fostering understanding, appreciation, and unity among diverse communities. Through the establishment of the Nepali heritage museum, we aim to create a space where visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty and depth of Nepali heritage, including traditional artifacts, artworks, textiles, music, and more.

Himalayan Health Clinic

The Himalayan Health Clinic, operated by the Texas Nepalese Medical Association (TNMA), is a beacon of hope for underserved communities in the DFW Metroplex. Founded with a vision to provide accessible and compassionate healthcare to those in need, the clinic serves as a lifeline for individuals facing barriers to medical care.

Staffed by dedicated healthcare professionals and volunteers, the clinic offers a range of medical services, including primary care, preventive screenings, and specialty consultations. With a focus on culturally sensitive care and community engagement, the Himalayan Health Clinic goes beyond treating symptoms to address the holistic health needs of its patients.

 Texas Nepalese Medical Organization, TNMA, is a non-profit, nonpolitical medical organization of Nepalese medical professionals dedicated to providing free health camps. TNMA was established to foster cooperation and cohesiveness in the medical community, to run free Health Camps efficiently, and to educate community members about health issues. 

NTFB

The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing hunger in the North Texas region. With a mission to create a hunger-free, healthy North Texas, NTFB distributes food to those in need through a network of partner agencies and programs.

Since its inception in 1982, NTFB has been at the forefront of combating hunger, providing nutritious meals to children, families, and seniors facing food insecurity. Through innovative initiatives and community partnerships, NTFB not only addresses immediate hunger needs but also works towards long-term solutions to hunger.

With a commitment to efficiency and transparency, NTFB ensures that every donation makes a meaningful impact, reaching those who need it most.
