Empowering Young Lives by Adopting the KIDEP Orphanage in Tanzania
Launch of a Transformative Partnership
In July 2025, One Step Foundation began a long-term partnership with Kidep Foundation, a grassroots orphanage and outreach center in Moshi, Tanzania. Founded by Diomedi Paskali, a former street child who now leads with compassion and clarity, Kidep provides critical care for 88 children—40 who live full-time at the orphanage and 48 more supported in surrounding communities.
Holistic Care for children
Kidep offers more than just shelter. It provides education, food, healthcare, mentorship, and emotional support, creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can heal, grow, and build a better future.
Symbolic Start and Lasting Commitment
This journey began with a symbolic donation of $5,895—one dollar for every meter of Mount Kilimanjaro. Since then, One Step Foundation has formally adopted KIDEP as a core international project. This adoption is more than symbolic—it’s a commitment to lasting impact through:
Consistent funding
Infrastructure upgrades
Education support
Deep community partnerships
Local Leadership for Local Impact
The project is coordinated on the ground by our trusted volunteer, Daudi Bayo, whose local leadership and deep commitment ensure that support is directed where it’s needed most.
Together, We Can Restore What They Deserve
These children have already endured so much. They shouldn’t have to lose their safety, health, or opportunity to learn.
We’ve started with:
Rebuilding the perimeter fence
Repairing the septic system
Paying school fees for all 40 resident children
But we cannot do it alone. Join us in protecting them. Help restore their dignity, safety, and hope.
How We Support:
- Regular funding for nutrition, education, and healthcare
- Volunteer and youth ambassador engagement
- Facility improvements (clean water, safe housing, classrooms)
- Storytelling, fundraising, and global awareness campaigns
- Local collaboration for long-term sustainability
