The foundation is dedicated to the memory of Kamala Shakya, who died cause of cervical cancer in April 18, 2018. Kamala Shakya was a dedicated Nurse and work at local hospitals. She was very active in Nepali community in Dallas, Texas. She volunteered at Nepali Society in Texas, Walk for Nepal Team and many more social events. Dallas based this foundation was founded with the help of Nepali community in DFW

One Step Foundation volunteer Bal Joshi is running a 100k race on November 23, 2024, at the Dinosaur Valley Endurance Run in Glen Rose, TX, to raise funds for an upcoming project to build a library accessible to differently-abled individuals in Chitwan, Nepal. This project is run and managed by Nepal Journey, an organization dedicated to fostering educational opportunities and cultural preservation in Nepal. Nepal Journey focuses on community-based initiatives, promoting sustainable development, and supporting educational infrastructure in underserved regions.
In a world where every small action counts, our volunteers at the One Step Foundation took on a monumental challenge: a 100K bike ride to support the Kamala Foundation. This event exemplifies how determination and teamwork can turn a simple ride into a beacon of hope for many.
Over the course of this incredible journey, our volunteers pedaled through diverse terrains, pushing their limits to raise awareness and funds for the Kamala Foundation. Each kilometer covered was a testament to their unwavering commitment to making a difference.
The funds raised from this event will support various community initiatives led by the Kamala Foundation. These initiatives focus on education, healthcare, and sustainable development, directly benefiting those in need and fostering long-term positive change.
Represented by the One Step Foundation, This isn’t just any challenge; it’s one of the world’s most demanding marathons, pushing runners to their limits with its extreme altitude of over 17,500 feet and treacherous terrain in the heart of the Himalayas. Every step in this race is a testament to human endurance, set against the backdrop of Earth’s highest peak.
He is running for causes close to his heart: education, healthcare, and cultural preservation. This marathon, commemorating the historic ascent by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary, is more than a race; it’s a mission to positively impact the world.
